Do I have to get a prescription from my doctor for physical therapy?
A: No, New York State is a direct access state which means you no longer require a prescription from your doctor, regardless of your insurance. Physical therapists have extensive education, obtaining a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Physical therapists are trained/educated to recognize signs/symptoms of when to treat or when to refer out to a physician.
Do you take my insurance?
A: We accept all plans/providers.
Can't I just do exercises I've found on YouTube?
A: Although videos are easily found on the internet, most exercises are done incorrectly and often are addressing only your symptoms, not your cause of pain which in turn cause increased injuries and delay in healing. In our clinic we are able to provide one-on-one care to ensure proper techniques are being utilized.
How do I make an appointment?
A: You can call to speak with our office staff to schedule your evaluation at 518-622-9200. Please have your insurance card in hand to provide needed information.
What can I expect at my first appointment?
A: Come in loose fitting, comfortable clothing. You will be assessed by your therapist in a private treatment room. Your assessment will include speaking to your therapist regarding the reason for your visit, measurements, education on your diagnosis/findings, and often a treatment to improve your symptoms. You will be sent home with a home exercise program to actively assist in your rehabilitation.
